1919 (12th April) - Alejo Vidal-Quadras is born in an upper middle-class family in Barcelona.

1924 - Javier, Pilar and their two sons Javier and Alejo, settle in Cannes.

1931 - Alejo and his brother Javier enter the Bonanova College.

1931-36 - Learning (Pepin Vidal-Quadras’ studio in Barcelona).

1936-39 - Spanish Civil War.

1941 - First exhibition (in a gallery in Barcelona).

1941-43 - Alejo moves himself to Santiago (Chili) - He starts a promising career as a portraitist.

1943-46 - Alejo goes to Buenos Aires (Argentina) - Great success as a portraitist.

1947 - He goes to Paris with Emma Reyes, a young Columbian painter, who had obtained a scholarship to study painting in France.

1948 - Alejo returns regularly to Barcelona, to meet his friends and other artists. This year he joins Tilda Tamar, a young actress from Argentina that he had known in Buenos Aires.

1949 - First exhibition in Paris at the André Weil Gallery. He becomes to be known as a portraitist.

1950 - Alejo marries Tilda Tamar. In this period of his life his celebrity begins and he starts to paint personalities and members of royal families.

1955 - The Countess of Paris commissions the portrait of each of her eleven children. This probably is the detonator of his international career.

50s and 60s - His reputation as a portraitist is confirmed.

1977 (5th January) - Alejo and Marie-Charlotte are married in the church of Ayen, in Switzerland in le Valais.

80s - Alejo is often in the United States for his work. He and Marie-Charlotte acquire a house in Palm-Beach.

80s-90s - Alejo continues to work non-stop.

1993 (13th September) - He has his first heart attack. He is rushed to hospital and operated on. On his return home he continues to paint but feel tired and easily worn out.

1994 (23rd January) - He dies aged seventy-five.
