(12th April) - Alejo Vidal-Quadras is born in an upper
middle-class family in Barcelona.
1924 - Javier, Pilar and their two sons Javier and Alejo, settle in Cannes. 1931 - Alejo and his brother Javier enter the Bonanova College. 1931-36 - Learning (Pepin Vidal-Quadras’ studio in Barcelona). 1936-39 - Spanish Civil War. 1941 - First exhibition (in a gallery in Barcelona). 1941-43 - Alejo moves himself to Santiago (Chili) - He starts a promising career as a portraitist. 1943-46 - Alejo goes to Buenos Aires (Argentina) - Great success as a portraitist. 1947 - He goes to Paris with Emma Reyes, a young Columbian painter, who had obtained a scholarship to study painting in France. 1948 - Alejo returns regularly to Barcelona, to meet his friends and other artists. This year he joins Tilda Tamar, a young actress from Argentina that he had known in Buenos Aires. 1949 - First exhibition in Paris at the André Weil Gallery. He becomes to be known as a portraitist. 1950
- Alejo marries Tilda Tamar. In this period of his life
his celebrity begins and he starts to paint personalities and
